Industry Focus

Innovate Washington focuses on sector-based economic development, which allows us and our private-sector partners to bolster the most vital industries to our state’s economy.

This sector-based approach also lets us develop custom development models for each sector – models that actively rely on the private sector to identify policy gaps, focused initiatives, and effective coordination.

Our initial sector focus will be on clean energy. Innovate Washington will work alongside the Clean Energy Partnership to make the Northwest a world-class hub of clean energy ideas and development, a leader in the creation of green jobs, and a home for high-growth clean technology companies.

Innovate Washington will then move forward to develop strategies for Washington’s important business sectors: aerospace, agriculture, life sciences, information & communication technology, and advanced materials/manufacturing.
